Early Child Development is complex. Social, cultural, relational, biological, and genetic factors all play a critical role in determining how a child will grow. Through “bottom-up” initiatives, such as supporting pregnant women to maximize individual safety, health (including mental health), nutrition, and knowledge, the CCCN supports the development of young children. Simultaneously, through “top-down” initiatives, such as preparing evidence-based policy reports that governments and non-governmental organizations can use to establish laws and implement policies, the CCCN addresses the social and cultural factors that can impact ECD.
